Adobe Rip Options

ProductionHouse now uses the Adobe PDF Print Engine 5.0 for converting PDF/PS/EPS document files into pixels for the purposes of printing. The Adobe PDF Print Engine is a native PDF Interpreter and pixel rasterizer. It utilizes the same interpreting libraries utilized by Adobe products like Acrobat, and Illustrator. The rendering libraries are similar libraries used by Adobe for other products, but optimized for large rendering of print ready data. There are following features in “JobClosed Properties > PS/PDF > Adobe Rip Options” (Job Editor, Figure 1)

 

  • Enable Anti-aliasingClosed for - Anti-AliasingClosed can smooth elements of an image that appear jagged due to lack of resolution. In this section you can choose [Text], [Line Art], or both for your job.
  • Clipping paths applied to: - This option is for specific elements. You can use [Smooth Shades], [Images], and [Blended Transparent Regions].
  • Override Default RIP Settings – This option will be used when you want to override the Default Configure RIP options for a Quick SetClosed (RIP-Queue) or a Job Properties (Job Editor). Click the [Settings…] button to open the “Configure RIP” dialog.
